Poster for the movie

Hi there, everybody, so last month I got to watch Mufasa: The Lion King and to me personally, it was outstanding. I loved how phenomenally rendered the different kinds of colorful scenery we got to see were depicted that I admit was more appealing than the previous film, and reminds us that Africa isn’t all savannas and jungles. Giving the animal characters more emotive facial expressions rather than just going for their voice performers' tone and species' body language worked better for this time around too. The songs I felt like were still well-written felt like they belong in a Lion King-esque work and the character’s actors sang them very professionally.

Now of course, the bond between the title character Mufasa and Taka (the latter of which would become known as Scar) was something I don’t think we ever got in the franchise until this very one. It’s bittersweet to describe it best. Starting out with the sweet part, that comes from how the two lions actually did love each other in a true brotherly bond with the orphaned Mufasa finding a new home thanks to the happy, compassionate, and playful Taka. The bitter part comes from us already knowing this strong bond would forever be decimated once Taka grows up into the heartless, selfish, greedy, and vindictive monster known as Scar.

Timon and Pumbaa also worked out fine with their clever comments and one-liners that I felt didn’t hinder the story and were still funny with the performances of their respective voice actors Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen. I would definitely recommend this movie

I give it a 8/10.
