Foods Sensitivities

When I was little I never had too much of an issue for when it came to eating meals my mom made for me. Certain foods I have had trouble with before were canned green beans, corn (off the cob) and fat on meats such as steak. In fact with these foods, it took me so long to finish them that I’d still be at the dinner table even after my family was done with what they had.
While I still have some issues with the green beans and corn (both of which stem from the watery liquid they come in), for the steak I learned how to cut the fat off after using a knife more efficiently. But still to this day, I get grossed out by fat on my meat.
Additionally when I was younger, I used to like trying to figure what type of animal the meats came from at the dinner table and it would result in my parents telling me we were not discussing it while eating. Plus if my steak had a bone, I used to like to examine it.
The reason I always ate different foods each night is because my parents never gave me a choice. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I remember seeing parents desperate for a specific-shaped chicken nugget from a certain brand and my parents saying that was why they made sure I ate a variety of foods in case something I could’ve liked ended up either not being found, discontinued or being bad for me.
I believe that there have been studies linking processed foods with anxiety, which is very common in kids and other people with special needs. Also we have a family friend that works with special needs kids that she said some of the kids will only eat fast foods.
A balanced diet and vitamins could actually make a big difference in focus, attitude and anxiety. I also noticed from my personal experiences that staying hydrated via drinking sufficient amounts of water can help with overall functions of everyday life such as focusing.
On a side note, I can cook some of the best damn hamburgers on a grill.

Hey every once in a while, everyone deserves a treat and break the rules.
Please remember to share!
