This Is The End Movie Review

If you never watched This Is The End, you really got to because boy, is it hysterical! I don’t think I’ve ever seen an apocalyptic movie be executed well with a comedic tone and having talented actors taking the situation seriously, yet still managing to be humorous with well-known celebrities playing fictional, exaggerated versions of themselves and many, many more being present throughout the movie. Some of which though meet extremely unpleasant ends.
The tone I will admit did feel a bit uneven and inconsistent at times with switching from comedy to pure horror and vice versa at various points, but other than that, I don’t think I have much to critique about it.
The special effects for the supernatural elements were surprisingly handled very well for a movie that didn’t have too high of a budget. I felt Hollywood being turned into a desolate landscape looked convincingly freaky and the demons that occasionally attack our main characters very intimidating and monstrous indeed for a comedy film.
I personally think this movie is deserving of an 8.5/10 and would recommend anyone who likes dark raunchy comedies to check this out.
