My Thoughts on Joe character from Boot Camp

Here is Joe from the 2007 novel Boot Camp by Todd Strasser, according to ChatGPT based on his description who is quite possibly my most hated character of all time.

The assigned "father" for main character Garrett Durrell and his family unit of Dignity at Lake Harmony, Joe is a disgusting, sinister, cruel, and sadistic bastard of a man who proves to be a tormenter rather than mentor as he repeatedly antagonizes Garrett with intense ridicule and insults over the smallest mishaps, as well as when the boy is minding his own business. It’s not just that, Joe also constantly sends Garrett into isolation at any opportunity along with having the other teenage boys harm the protagonist as Lake Harmony staff members can’t be caught physically abusing kids themselves. Now there are times when Joe does get physical with Garrett and it certainly isn’t pretty.

All of this shows what a despicable, loathsome, and monstrous SOB character Joe is whose presence will fill the reader with revulsion and his actions have never left my mind after all these years.
